Aspen Edge Research, LLC, was established in May 2003 as an independent, buy-side focused, equity research consulting firm providing targeted stock analyses to institutional investment managers and high net-worth individuals. On July 4th, 2007, after a full decade of service to The Brandywine Funds, Aspen Edge Research ceased its equity research consulting operations to refocus itself on the analysis, acquisition, development, and trading of premium domain names around the globe.
Founder: Aspen Edge Research, founded by lead researcher T.J. Demas, operates out of Aspen, Colorado. Mr. Demas received his MBA in Finance from The University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business in 1995. Upon graduation he joined American Century Investors in Kansas City, Missouri as an equity analyst for their aggressive growth mutual funds Giftrust and Vista. In 1997 he joined Wachovia Securities in Charlotte, North Carolina to begin consulting Friess Associates, manager of The Brandywine Funds, before launching Aspen Edge Research, LLC in 2003 out of Aspen, Colorado.
Research Protocol: Mr. Demas established a research protocol for Aspen Edge Research, LLC based on his training and experience as an equity generalist with a focus on high growth smallcap and midcap domestic stocks. Today Aspen Edge seeks stocks which exhibit both strong revenue and earnings growth while limiting P/E ratios to less than 40 times forward 12-18 month earnings estimates.
Interviews: Aspen Edge Research adds value to its clients through a time-tested approach of performing detailed fundamental and technical analysis along with in-depth, 1-on-1 interviews with key executives, their suppliers, customers, and competitors in addition to Wall Street industry analysts as it strives to keep its “edge” on a targeted stock. By developing and maintaining on-going, professional relationships with contacts on multiple sides of a company’s business, Aspen Edge Research develops a 360 degree view of a current stock's prospects instead of relying only on published analysts reports, press releases, and generally available financial media coverage.
